Our beloved Mildred Davy passed away on the evening of Tuesday, October 4th at the Tillamook County General Hospital at the age of 93.
Mildred had been with KTIL/KMBD since 1961 and was best known for her daily radio show "It's a Woman's World", in which she was on the air for almost 41 years. |
| Sister station KMBD was named for Mildred (Mildred Berkey Davy) in 1994 and all of us at the station consider her our spiritual leader. When asked of what she is most proud, you can count on Mildred to mention first her granddaughter Genevieve and grandson John, named after Mildred's late husband of 50 years.. |

In January 2005, Mildred was honored by the Oregon State Senate for her lifetime of dedication and service to the community. Senate Bill, Senate Concurrent Resolution 2, was introduced by outgoing state Sen. Joan Dukes and was approved by the full Senate. Testifying in support of the resolution before the Senate committee was 32nd District state Rep. Deborah Boone.
Mildred is survived by her son Dan and his wife Cheryl, grandchildren Genevieve and John Davy, brother Robert Berkey and sisters-in-law Dorothy and Mary Emma Berkey.
